his formerly traditional kitchen needed an update and one feature the clients wanted to have was an island with its own seating area. They wanted a more contemporary feel but retain their traditional doors. With a blue and silver-grey colour scheme the transition from contemporary kitchen to a more traditional sitting area. The kitchen features a large well-lit angled larder with lots of shelves. A second larder with a Silestone® shelf holds a toaster, coffee machine, etc, deftly hidden behind closed doors. The worktop Silestone® in Blanco Maple.
We are absolutely thrilled with the service from Woodbrook Designs to meet our demanding design brief! Ann was patient while we made our decisions and able to find a space for everything on our list; we appreciate the extra work to come up with solutions for our vision, including an island on legs. Paul was superb at executing the design and ensured the kitchen was finished to the highest standard. Ann was always available for any issues and we felt we were in safe hands throughout. The kitchen is a joy to use with everything in its place.

Kitchen Up-date

A bespoke sleek kitchen designed for add light and space
This kitchen was designed with 'back-ache friendly' fittings as a priority

A bespoke kitchen update
Designer: Ann Stevens of Woodbrook Designs
his kitchen design is for a barn conversion which had a rather dated kitchen. The clients wanted a linear contemporary style which brought in light colours to enhance the stone wall at the back of kitchen. The specification included a large peninsular informal eating area with an interesting shape. Lots of drawers were needed plus two larders - one for food and another for kitchen equipment and bulk storage. The built-in oven was installed at a bespoke height as both clients are tall.
Woodbrook Designs did an outstanding job on our new kitchen from start to finish. Ann made sure she understood what our needs and what was important to us. Once we’d decided she provided a realistic cost quotation, time schedule and sourced everything from the cooker to the kitchen sink. Her team worked seamlessly together - all really nice guys and always on time too. The end result is a spectacular kitchen - exactly what we were hoping for.

Exciting colours and a high gloss look
Full stave oak worktop and super-sleek Silestone® worktops compliment the green and Tuscan red high gloss features

A combination of high gloss features and matt finish units
Designer: Ann Stevens of Woodbrook Designs
his gorgeous new kitchen for a barn conversion in The Hendre, Monmouth was an exciting project for us. Our clients had some great ideas and together we created an exciting colour scheme with a high gloss look. We used accent colours to contrast with the deep blue shaker-style cabinets and quartz worktops. This statement kitchen blends with the character of the original building creating a wonderful space for entertaining as well as family living.
When we decided to renovate our kitchen we were looking to improve the layout as well as change the functionality. Ann came up with a number of design ideas for us to choose from. She then helped improve the final design with the benefit of her experience so that we got the best possible outcome. The team she assembled to complete the build were outstanding and we couldn’t be more pleased with the final outcome.

A contemporary Shaker style kitchen
Slate and light grey painted kitchen units, oak shelving and super-sleek Silestone® worktops work well in this light airy cottage kitchen.

Contemporary Shaker Kitchen
Designer: Ann Stevens of Woodbrook Designs
his contemporary style kitchen has been inspired by the Shaker principles of 'simplicity, utility and honesty' which is reflected in the well-made furniture of minimalist design.
The floor and wall kitchen units are made by Rivington and feature deep-chamfered centre panels and full height larder doors. Painted in two contrasting shades of grey, the pewter handles beautifully connect the subtle bespoke paint colours. The cool, durable and stain-proof* kitchen worktop is made from Cosentino Silestone® (colour Blanco Orion) with matching up-stands, window sills and back splash. The kitchen sink is a classic wide Belfast style with Zelus chrome taps - both made by Franke. The kitchen features solid oak shelving.
The simplicity of the lines, colours and quality of the kitchen furniture provide a quietly understated backdrop to client's own tasteful accessories.
*Silestone® is a non-porous surface and highly resistant to staining caused by coffee, wine, lemon juice, olive oil, vinegar and many other everyday domestic products.

Painted wood in Flint and Porcelain Grey
Designer: Ann Stevens of Woodbrook Designs
his elegant kitchen in Monmouth makes the best use of the natural light to show off the contrasting flint grey and porcelain tones of the painted solid wood unit doors and drawers. The gleaming Silestone® work top (colour Bianco River) is made of 90% natural quartz. This makes it an extraordinarily durable and resilient surface with the added bonus of being easy to keep spotlessly clean.
Black glass reflects the light behind behind the Aga which provides another reflective contrast with the white matt glass above the units on the other walls.
The double kitchen sink is a Franke Arianne ARX160, the oven and induction hob are by Neff.

Blue Gloss Kitchen

St Arvans Blue Kitchen
Designer: Ann Stevens of Woodbrook Designs
rom the very beginning Ann was incredibly helpful, making valuable suggestions about the design for our new kitchen without pushing us in any specific direction, or to take on more than we could afford. We never felt we were subjected to a hard sell. Ann listened to what we wanted and was happy to incorporate some of our existing units into the new kitchen, but she also gently persuaded us to include some things we might not have considered - which we now can’t live without such as the integrated bin and the Le Mans corner unit.
Storage is important to us and Ann helped us achieve maximum storage with a combination of multiple drawer units and a floor to ceiling larder cupboard and cleaning cupboard. We wanted a large island to be the focus of the room and Ann’s suggestion of using a beautiful piece of walnut as the worktop has really makes this stand out. Additionally, it is a lovely surface to work on! Paul was meticulous fitting the kitchen and the result is stunning and looks and feels exceptionally high-end. We especially love the fact that the design incorporates two different colours of blue with the wall cupboards being beautifully framed in a darker hue.
Ann took complete responsibility for dealing with all suppliers which meant a lot less work and stress for us. Woodbrook Designs offers an extremely professional service, achieving a superb kitchen for an excellent price.
Woodbrook Designs were recommended to us by some friends and so we approached Ann to help us update our existing kitchen and bring in a more open-plan design.

Ann's own kitchen

Ann's kitchen
Exciting bright glowing colours, innovative design and state of the art features

Ann's own kitchen
Designer: Ann Stevens of Woodbrook Designs
he blaze of glorious golden colours above classic grey kitchen units in Ann's kitchen is very much a reflection of her personal taste. Grey, the classic base colour for modern kitchens, will stand up to the passing of time and the fickle colour trends paraded in the ever-changing interior design magazines. The mustard glass on the walls is a fabulous gust of fresh air bringing excitement to the room she and her family spend most of their time.
When choosing the new kitchen worktop Ann stuck with Silestone® - a material she's had before and believes to be one of the best worktops on the market. The 25 year Silestone® warranty is reassuringly available on all colours. Ann loves bright cheerful kitchens and the glass back splashes reflect the light beautifully. There's no grouting to discolour and glass is easy to keep sparkling clean.
Ann chose a Neff single oven with slide away door plus a combi oven with a warming drawer positioned at the right height for Ann. She works this out with all her clients to ensure comfort and ease when lifting heavy baking trays. The induction hob has an integrated hood above.
